Now I know why Will Arnett was a presenter with Keri Russell debuting on Fox, called “Running Wilde.”

It’s a comedy, it co-stars Russell, it debuts on Sept. 21, and the producer is, Mitch Hurwitz of Arrested Development fame.

The WSJ describes it thusly:

Pity the new sitcom “Running Wilde.” The irreverent half-hour comedy from the creators of “Arrested Development” suffers from higher expectations than any recent sitcom.

Fans of “Arrested Development” who can still quote lines from the deadpan series are expecting something just as sidesplitting from this comedy that stars Will Arnett as an entitled trust-funder who has a crush on an earthy do-gooder and single mom played by Keri Russell. The pilot fell short and critics grilled executive producer Mitch Hurwitz. Producers announced in August the first episode will be reshot in New York instead of Vancouver, British Columbia, and will have some casting and script tweaks.

Arnett was on Letterman last night to show a clip:
